Hi y’all.
Hope everyone’s fine and enjoying gardening in the heat 🥵
Not much to report alas, apples everywhere, magpies feasttime.
Gardens a lot more mature now it’s 4 yrs old, and been dug dug dug.
Baby pear tree had black patches on leaves, friend said possibly scab, so I pruned all the affected branches and am hoping for the best, or it’ll have to go, sadly.
Now busy watching for strawberry runners and removing, to have bigger and better plants next year 🤞
Take care out there.
Hywl fawr.

Sorry to hear about your pear problem. It is a fungal disease. No need to prune, but next year spray with a fungicide a couple of times early in the season. No need to discard the tree.

Sadly not enjoying it but thats because everything including myself is struggling in this heat and also no rain for such a long time, good thing is I'm not mowing the lawns every week, at this rate I won't have one left to bother with, I'm out every morning/afternoon/evening collecting fallen apples, the birds are happy enjoying the ones I throw under the hedge for them, cannot leave them on the lawn as our two terriers would make themselves ill, I will recover though as will the garden.....
