Potatoes

Just an update on this years spuds.
A couple of weeks ago My Maris Piper and Cara where just showing signs of what I thought was the dreaded blight on the foliage returning so I dug them all up. Although some had been visited by what I think were wireworms it was excellent crop compared to last year. I had so many that I had to give some to friends and neighbours still leaving us with plenty.
However I am also growing Spiro Mira which is advertised as blight resistant so I left them alone until Sunday 31st Aug. when I dug up a couple of plants just for a look see. They are brilliant. No signs of blight. Going to leave the remainder for a few more weeks and see how they get on.
Will report back.
