They do, and if you cut them back, they'll come again..
When we did the other side of the Fence on the new front garden...I split one into two, and planted them there, and they are doing well....They're very accomodating......

Alex, this might be quite a good one for you...can grow up to more than 30cms...needs watered very well and then left to become dry...and only the albaflore is toxic (from what I can make out)! :)

It likes sun Alex, but it can cope with some shade...my last one at my old house had half a day of each :)

I have this...I call it ' my jewel in the crown'....can divide clumps as they get big...
