As a last resort i did,nt sing to my plants as i entered the greenhouse. This procedure prompted my Alicantie to grow quite nicely ,infact Tomatoe buds were in abundance on the first truss of each plant. The birds were singing however and i got the impression they were glad i did,nt. What a blooming morning i uttered to myself and then the kitchen kettle started singing and i felt releaved at knowing my cuppa was under construction. My basket Fuchsias were absolutely overwhelmed at my loss of voice, and Rocky our budgie seemed to admire the silence also. Being absolutely contented with my basket and container plants i turned to the tone of my good ladies gentle voice informing me to come in or my apple slice would be consumed. Other than that i enjoyed the morning. Will have photos on Goy asap. Take care all Tony

Hello Tony....no...I haven't jumped ship ! Just been on leave ! Hahaa! I don't think anything would grow in my garden if I sang ! I could crack glass ! Hahaa!
Hope you and your good lady are well. I'm off again to Turkey tomorrow for 3 weeks and hopefully no rain !!!

My grandfather enjoyed singing. We were told he could
break a glass across the other side of the room, just by
his voice. I never saw him do it, used to wonder if it
was true.
When he joined the Home Guard in Oakham, the man taking the details said "Name ? Age? Occupation? "
which annoyed my grandfather as everyone knew his
job was valet to the local descendent of the Earl of Gainsborough, and looking after his horse - so he replied
" Oh general muckabout."

After that, all through his Home Guard service years he
was called " General Muck About."
