Four Seasons Open Garden - Sunday 23 September 2012

Tony and Marie Newton will be opening their award-winning ‘Four Seasons’ garden to boost Walsall Mayor’s chosen charity: Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.

‘Four Seasons’ garden, in Buchanan Road WS4 2EN, will be open to the public on Sunday, 23 September 2012, from 10am – 5pm. Note: there are some steps in the garden.

Admission is £3 for adults and all proceeds will be donated to Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research, which is the only UK charity solely dedicated to research into blood cancers, including leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma.

In late September the third of an acre garden at ‘Four Seasons’ is spectacular as the Virginia creeper on the house changes to red. In the upper garden, the begonia flowers are a riot of colour against a backdrop of acers and conifers. In the lower garden, a stream meanders through the late summer perennials. Visitors will have a taste of the tropics as they wander through the jungle with its palms, bamboos, bananas and exotic bird sounds.

Fantastic photos! Wish we were near enough to visit but probably can't. Hope they make loads; certainly deserve too.

Thanks Tuesdaybear and Lizziebee

We really enjoy our garden - it's a shared passion. We say it's a win, win, win, win situation. We love to share it, the visitors get so much enjoyment, the charities really benefit and - I get the excuse to buy more plants and bulbs!!!!

Too far for us to visit now, but an amazing garden have looked at the photographs many, many times, nothing can match this garden for colour and imagination.

I've only just realised that it's your own garden - losing brain cells by the minute!! What an immense amount of work you have put in and how amazing the results. Stunning.

Now that we're retired, it's such a pleasure to spend time in the garden without wishing our lives away until the next weekend. We wonder how we managed when we had jobs that took 40-50 hours a week! Now we have time to sit and relax - and prepare for about 10 open days a year!
