I live in Kent and garden on chalk soil (though, of course all of my favourite plants are acid lovers!). I have lived in this house for more than 20 years and we chose it because it had a good sized garden (about 100 feet by 25). Recently we have bought a couple of adjacent plots from neighbours, so I have a veg/fruit plot of about 60X25 and a small lawned area for the grandchildren's swing and sand pit. The main part of the garden has gradually been developed into separate 'rooms'. I am a member of the Japanese garden society so ever striving for perfection (not likely to reach it though). Love to visit open gardens and take ideas for planting from others.
