Gardengoddess's Profile
About me
Gardening is a form of meditation to me. I have a strong urge to nurture and working among my plants certainly reinforces the idea that the flowers need me, and that I am their Mother. Troubles melt away as I concern myself with the care of my flowers.
Our old Victorian house (circa 1890) sits on 4 lots of 40X40 feet each. I maintain the whole area as a garden. We sit high above the street and our yard has three tiers. The bottom tier consists of parking for our cars and a walkway that leads to the patio. The middle tier is gardens, and the top tier, which is more of a hill than anything else, is wooded. We leave it that way for the wildlife that abounds here in our small town.
I am 63 years old and have been married for almost 38 years. I have three grown children who live elsewhere. I miss them and we intend to move closer to them soon. I don't exactly have an empty nest though. Inside my house are 14 cats, and we have two outside cats who are on the waiting list to come inside. Yes, I am a crazy cat lady. We have just adopted a dog too. A German Shepherd who was half-starved when picked up by the police. No one claimed him so we paid for his vet bills, and he is now ours.
Besides gardening, I love to do arts and crafts projects. I also sew and quilt. I love to read and I love to write, and I'm trying to find more time for both. I'm interested in the theory of Feng Shui and am trying to institute it into my home. I listen of music of all kinds. I'm concerned with staying healthy and fit, and because of that I'm trying to eliminate toxins in my food and drink and in my garden.
