What a windy open garden!

Sunday morning looked like we might as well not bother; intermitant heavy showers looked like it would put pay to our village open gardens, but despite the forecast, the rain kept away in the afternoon for us. But the wind, wow we were chasing tombola tickets up the driveway.
Anyway we had a decent turnout & all went well. The tombola & entry raised just over £40 & I sold £30 worth of plants which I was pleased with. In all over £700 was raised towards the fabric of our local church so not bad for a 3 hour event.
Today though, I thought about recent comments on the blog regarding open gardens & how right they are. I feel at peace again in my garden, got my sanctuary back, no pressure to have everything just so. It was worth it as I had lots of lovely comments & it was a good cause, but thankfully it won’t be every year! Back to enjoying my space & oh yes, I must start on my Leisure Gardening course I have enrolled on. Lesson 1 to get started on.
PHEW!

Well done, Poppy! PLEASE DO NOT try to put me off opening my garden - I'm nervous enough already! LOL. Your village did well, it was worth it, wasn't it. Your course came quickly - good luck with it - I haven't restarted mine yet.

Yes Spritz is was well worth doing & I did enjoy every minute of it just as you will, but afterwards rather than there being an anti-climax after the event, you can again appreciate & enjoy your own space knowing it has given pleasure to lots of people. Best of luck, enjoy it, dont get uptight about, it will be good.

Well done, Poppy! I know what you mean about the stresses and strains, and the feeling of relaxation that follows "events". Congratulations on raising so much cash for a good cause.
