Is it Spring yet?

I think someone needs to tell the plants in my garden that its not spring yet! With the mild weather, much like across the UK I think, my spring bulbs have begun to grow and pop through the soil. Shrubs and plants alike are starting to bud and I’m concerned that a late sharp cold frost will damage them.
I had plans for over the winter months to start re-arranging some of the plants from last year, especially within a half circle bed at the end of the patio where I am planning on filling with just lupins this year. It currently has a few other plants, including a hydranger I put there at the beginning of last year before I decided I was going to fill it with lupins, I’ve since thought it would look lovely as just lupins with an edging of short lavender.
I’ll have to see how it goes.. I have managed to collect a lot of lupin seeds from my last years stock which I will start to pot up soon.

I'm enjoying the mild weather like the plants :o)
I saw a whole bed of lupins last year in a garden, and they looked spectacular. Good luck with your plan.

Masses lupins would look great - don't they usually take two years to flower from seed? I have never grown them as OH has unpleasant associations of being told off for retrieving his football from a neighbour's lupin bed once too often!
