Enthusiastic amateur gardener, born in England and learnt my gardening skills there. Been in Australia 20 years but still learning the when, where and how of gardening in Australia.
My garden is under 1000sq. m. I have good topsoil with a clay base. There are 3 large Sydney blue gums in the back garden and a row of tall tree ferns beside a creek form the back fence line. I struggle to find things that will grow in the shade but have had reasonable success. I like a plants based garden rather than a perfect design though I try to combine the two.
