Absolutely magnificant Alex. We went into this palace many years ago (about 1982) and this blog brings back all those memories. Excellent.

Thank you Stickitoffee, I like the white "carvings" as well. The boys look like they were stuck to the wall, there were a few of these but I tried to limit myself...no tour guide on the premises that day.....lucky them.

Thank you Sheilar, the first time I visited was 1980 when we were here on holiday. There are a lot of rooms and paths closed now that were open back then. I remember taking the path that lead down to the private beach.....that really impressed me then....your own private beach.

Thanks Paul, glad you like them. There is so much more to see but I didn't want to over do it on the blog.....
I really liked the one of Achilles on his chariot.....I sat down on the top of the stairs to really have a look....I've taken close up pictures, wow.

I did! Thank you Alex! The stairwell was my favourite (except for the 'Victorious Empire' painting).

Glad you liked it Karen, the stairwell was my favorite too. I really loved the painting with Achilles on his chariot...so graphic. I don't like what he did to Hector though but I still sat down on the stairs and stared at the painting.
