I have a small garden in a communal area where I live, and the left hand side of it was trashed.

It took a while to get it back to as close to normal as possible, but I got there.

Thanks a lot. I have spent about £200-£300, so it is not cheap, to keep the garden looking good normally without the added cost of repairs and replacments.

Some plants can't be replaced due to the changing seasons.

Oh! Rotten lot some yob's.

Grrrrr. It's just awful that some people can be so respectless but I guess that will never change. I'm sorry you have to have them near your home, though :-(

I wonder if the vandals could be badgers. I planted a hedge of pyracantha outside my daughters garden wall to hide the ugly blocks of concrete from which it was built. She lives in a small quiet village. The plants were continually being uprooted and dragged half way down the lane. We thought it was very nasty but neighbours said it was badgers. We were not too sure they were correct. A few months later the neighbours drive developed a massive cave in. It was badgers. It was a relief to find out the mindless vandals were four and not two legged animals. I hope you are being left in peace now.

I'm a recent victim of garden vandalism, so I can certainly sympathize with you. Really makes you angry, doesn't it?

Sorry that you had to experience this.
Why don't you plant a couple of Euphorbias then if the vandals try to pull that up and end up with a nasty burning rash they would think twice before doing it again

Assuming it WAS the two-legged variety of vandal, don't some people need to get a life! What possible 'fun' can be gained from such an act? I can only assume it's jealousy for someone with intelligence, as it's obvious the vandals have none! My dad used to hide thorny rose cuttings amongst plants to keep cats off - that might just keep human hands off too!

I do know that it is 2 legged vandals, as this is not the first time this has happened, but the worst so far, plus the badgers would not be able to reach the tomato print bucket, as it is a hanging bucket, which was too high up, plus I have never known badgers round here, just squirrels and foxes.

Thanks for all your comments.

Don't let them win. you keep at it you'l get there. i feel so sorry for you. someone broke into my greenhouse once and trashed that, i felt like i couldn't go in for months after, i felt as if i was being watched. not very nice.

So sorry this has happened to you, don`t let it put you off as you obviously enjoy your patch.

If it keeps happening I think a vidio camera needs arrecting to catch them.

That is so sad. I do feel for you. There is a consolation that hopefully they will grow up soon and stop hassling you. Some councils provide cameras and expert witnesses so that tenants are not frightened to report these mindless morons. Might be an idea to speak to someone like a community policeman or the CAB office.

I have spoken to 2 PCSO's, e-mailed the local Safer Neighbourhood Team Constables, and the local councils Neighbourhood Manager.

I hope this brings results. Neighbours will be upset too because you are trying to improve the environment for all of you. Best wishes

I have been told that nothing can be done. I have contacted the local MP, who has helped me out in the past.

I will wait to see what he has to say.
