Hywel: Avoid. SNOW!

Now, I was so excited to see it start to snow on my way back from visiting my sister in hospital with pneumonia.

I woke up this morning to find the predicted 5-10cm and the local kids out or a morning snowball fight.

There was one thing that brought the tone down. No, not a rogue snowball, but uring the night it appears acording to the tyre tacks in the snow that a car skided off the road and up the kerb taking out my Wilma Goldcrest Cypressus.

I have examined the pieces and it looks like it was luckily in a large pot.

The pot is in disrepair, and will need a new one when the snow and ice thaws.

The tree where it landed. The circle and arrow show where the tree had been and the hole where it had been secured in the ground.

It stayed pright during the gales, but a driver decuded tehy didn’t like cypressus.

The hole in the pot

Broken pieces hidden in the snow

I then lifted the pot to move it, and then found more damage.

lol everyone in the world knows how depressing I find snow :D
We had a light dusting yesterday morning but it turned to rain and was gone by the night. None here now I'm pleased to say :o)

I'm sorry to hear about your tree Alex. It's annoying when someone ruins all your efforts. Maybe we should excuse them this time, because of the snow :o(
I hope you can get a nice new pot for it.
And I hope that muck clears away for you soon.
How's your sister now ?

We have managed to stay clear of snow in Glasgow.....it was the gales that brought down a large fir tree here. I always think of Hywel when the white stuff is mentioned too Alex.

LOL. Just like a child. When you tell them not to do something they are more likely to do the opposite.
