Meet Sky the budgie

I recently took my remaining budgie (refer to previous blog for details), to an avian vet and I told him why I only bought one, even though the appointment was for 2 budgie annual health checks.

He suggested that I get her a new friend.

So, yesterday afternoon, I made a trip to my local pet shop with my Mum who wanted to tag along.

After cooing over the kittens, I spotted her.

I brought her home and found out that she is in fact a rainbow budgie.

Here she is getting investigated by Lightning yesterday.

This morning I decided to try an itroduction, and just watch, in case I needed to get Sky out of the cage.

There was a bit of I’m the boss pecking from Lighting, and food related squabbling, but now they seem fine.

Fingers crossed for their first flight together later.

Here they are together in the large cage.

Sky’s Stats
>Very young, don’t know how old, but pre-puberty
>Rainbow budgie
Rainbow budgies don’t actually have all the colours of the rainbow due to those colours not being found in budgies.
> Believed to be female, but cannot be sure until puberty
> Bright blue abdomen, chest and back, darker blue near tail, turquoise tail, white wings with watermark grey and a yellow head.
