As you may have seen Dan (oddbillie) & myself went on a little adventure last wednesday to Dyffryn Gardens in the Vale of Glamorgan.
What a lovely day was had by all, just thought i’d share some of my pics with you now that Dan has given you part 1 of his photographic journey :o)
The house is so beautiful…..
very regal looking….
unfortunately it was not open to the public this afternoon :o(
such a wonderfully well kept garden…and so romantic too….
it really did feel as though it could be from any era :o)
and here’s Dan getting up close and personal to the flora…….No dan she’s not going to smile!
I know Dan has shown you a photo of this, but I would soo love it in the garden….
so dark and mysterious…..oooooh
lovely pampass grass..
so well manicured and weeded……
wonder what this tree would look like upside down……..
Oh like this……
loved the colour on this one..
don’t know what this plant is but I loved it, its like little puff balls of air…
Well thats about it for todays chapter, got to get ready for work again now :o(

What a lovely place for a day out Ali and such beautiful pictures. That pink flower is gorgeous, any idea what it is? I'm not sure that tree looks any better upside down, it's a bit odd isn't it/ That's taking neat and tidy a bit too far even for me!! lol

Great blog Ali, and lovely pics :) Hope you both had a good day...it's amazing how many ideas you can bring home with you from visiting a "grand garden" like that...the colours, the vistas, the plant combinations etc. can all be scaled down and used at home... Thanks for sharing x

Brilliant blog Ali and nice to see the same place from a different pair of eye's (or camera lens) That tree was a little strange but nice strange, I know what you mean about that lump of wood it is so artistic. And finally that house is superb what a shame it was'nt open, that's just my luck too.

LOVELY!!
Isnt it amazing just how different a blog on the same subject can be when two people write it from their perspective?
I love the lump of wood too!

Thanks for all your lovely comments guys :o) the house is beautiful San, just glad I don't have to clean all those windows! I love the pink pampass too.
Lily2 i have no idea what the pink flower is sorry, anybody????? please.
Not sure about the upside down tree, it was different but...
odd. thanks Bobq was a bit upset, because the house was open when we arrived but there was a crowd waiting so we thought we'd leave it till later :o( maybe next time. Thanks Mp, it's great to see 2 different perspectives on the same subject isn't, we kept going in different directions when different things caught our eye. Fluff yes the house & garden were stunning, i believe they,ve had help from the lottery funding to help restore & maintain it.
Orgratis thanks for that info, i'll def look into that i just love driftwood. never get much on the beach nearest us (apart from a couple of small branches) xx
