Still Growing!

Hi all hope you are enjoying this lovely weather and that your gardens are blooming.
Our pond is maturing nicely but the waterfall is still leaking. Hubby has added a shelf this week above the waterfall. We’ve put three plants on it which we hope will trail and cover the black pipes eventually. The violas keep flowering spurred on no doubt by the continuing sunshine.
Great excitement during the past couple of weeks having discovered wildlife in the pond – we have water snails! After a discussion with a lady from www.pondconservation.org.uk at the N.E.C garden show I took a closer look into the murky depths. At first I thought some poor unfortunate snail had strayed too near the edge and fallen in until it began to move about under the water. Lots of other unidentified flying creatures on the surface too. No frogs yet though – does anyone know where to acquire tadpoles?

The Frogspawn I had this spring has now produced teeny weeny froglets, you may be lucky next spring, but bear in mind they don't like moving water...

Ooooh I like your pond Buttybabe! Nice to take up a corner like that ... in a year's time all pipes will be covered up I bet! Hope you fix the leak ... as for taddies ... I guess you look in natural ponds in the country or put an advert in your local rag? Someone might have a lot & want to share?!

Update re Tadpoles
Great news - I have some tadpoles. Decided to have another look and there they were swimming around near the surface. Watch this space for news of their progress!
