And then the rains came....

Worked on the garden on Sunday, sun shone and got the grass cut. Dug out a conifer that was overgrowing it’s welcome and found that under it were huge dandelions and associated roots and suprisingly about 150 daff bulbs – but I only had 5 flowerheads this year! re planted them so hopeful of a better show next year.

Managed to clear an old ivy that was growing up, and into, the garage. I think the roof is asbestos so wanted to stop the ivy breaking it up. It was a hard job and although I have tried to kill the ivy through the roots all of last year it still wants to grow.

Added another layer to the potato bag – they’re growing like wildfire!

All of that and it has rained ever since – at least I can look out a reasonably tidy, garden that is growing in leaps and bounds by the day and plan for the next dry day – and hope it is on a weekend!

Hi Bloomer, If I could I would be delighted to send you the rain! I am working from home today and we have just had hailstones...! :)

Hope the rain reaches here by this evening as the garden is desperately dry and the rain barrels are empty. I so hate using the hose as I think our water is so hard and it makes the garden go like concrete and this despite all the compost I use. As for Ivy how I wish I`d never put that bit by the shed, before you`ve got time to turn round its lifting the roof off.
