About me
Hi. I am an avid gardener and can't wait for the weather to improve to get going. I have a steeply sloping, terraced, north facing garden in chilly Cumbria. Challenging? What do you think? Over the years I have developed the first terrace as a gravelled pond garden with some shrubs for interest and colour. That's how I stumbled on the site as I was looking for advice about my 10 year old, double trunked cordyline, which although perfectly hardy in other years, now looks like a pair of scruffy hula-hula skirts because of being covered for so long in snow. Nobody told me I was supposed to wrap it up! Still undecided what to do about it but have found a lot of good advice to ponder on. Second terrace is raised vegetable beds and the bottom area is chicken heaven - not really fit for much else. My rationale is to make life as easy as possible and still have a productive and enjoyable garden.
