Front Garden Snippets

My front garden is still a work in progress and I have builders stuff on the drive. It’s a bit of a mess. But up at the house it’s pretty. The builder planted little white Hebes and about a dozen Liriope Muscari under the window. I have augmented that with hydrangea petiolaris, geranium Rozanne and a few other things like daffs and Hellebores with winter flowering heathers. At the front door I have three pots; Clematis ‘Nubia’, Coronilla (just repotted and has taken a break from flowering) and New Zealand Tea Tree. It will change somewhat as we need to extend the slabs to create space for a bistro set as this is a West-facing aspect.

I have a couple of drain covers as well. One has the galvanised planter with the violas and Skimmia which covers it very prettily. The other one has a Photinia ‘Pink Marble’ which arrived very lop-sided and has had to be hard pruned. It will hopefully be nice in time.

very pretty Karen. It looks wonderful and will be lovely sitting out in the afternoon and evening. I am east facing at the front and although back garden is west there are whopping great tress on the boundary. Lots of shade.

I see from the latest RHS magazine, Hebe is now Veronica! Another lot of new names to get used too.

You are so welcome FF. I keep a list of plants on here as it’s Theon.y place I can use my own pics for reference. But the community on here has always been lovely. It went through a phase when it just wouldn’t work for me. I think a lot of friends drifted away at that point. But it seems to be working ok now.
