Shade lover

This is one of the very best plants for shade I have ever grown. In the winter it retains a low mound of green foliage and it flowers for months. It’s over a foot tall and the colour is just wonderful. Not only that, the foliage is almost Lime green and very beautiful in its own right. If you have a shady spot I would definitely give this a try. From Long Acre Plants, which is very near me, but not open to the public.
Corydalis calycosa
As you can see, the colour can look very blue, or almost violet in different lighting. I am really smitten with it. I have half a dozen clumps along the length of my shady border.

I only realised how powerfully scented this plant is when I brushed past it the other day! It’s wonderfully and sweetly perfumed.

It's one for the favourites list :-)

I’m tempted to add to my fernery area under the very large canopied juniper. Looks a gorgeous colour and all rounder
