This place blew me away…the house & the gardens. It oozed love, for the things that grew there & for the children that lived & played there. I can’t think of it as a royal residence, more simply as a place where sincere feeling & emotions were displayed, albeit on a grand scale! A piper had been booked for a gent who was treating his wife for their 40th wedding anniversary. What a lovely gesture. Ain’t love super?
Oh! to wake up to that view every day.
Go to Osborne House early and do both the house & gardens, you won’t be disappointed.

yes Isle of Wight~ allow a day for visiting & please go to the expense of doing Both the house & gardens.
It's a mistake to call it the royals 'hoilday' home, as I , too,had previously thought. It was actually their main home.
I love the IOW & want to live there but am tied here @ the moment.
