We moved on what had to be the hottest day of the year, last Thursday, by the time evening came we were shattered.

There was very little room on the patio so OH has moved some of the pots around.

Not sure if I posted a picture of my lily pot, they have done so well this year.

The Patio

The gravel and raised bed at the top of the garden.

Pots on the front, we have 2 hanging baskets to go back up at the weekend.

We also found a stow away, it must have hopped into the basket for shade and got transported. We are now looking for something to make a shallow pool out of.

OH has cut the grass, it was very parched and then we had a couple of nights when it rained so its greened up. It needs a lot of work, moss and clover growing in it. He took out the diamond wood shape that was on the front and used the pebbles to edge the border we are digging, although not much digging going on the ground is as hard as iron, we could do with a couple of days of steady rain. He is now going round with a board cutting out a new edge.

We have harvested, cucumbers, climbing beans and french beans and courgette. The tomato’s are ripening might have enough for a salad for supper. We have eaten most of our meals outside since we got here. Morning and afternoon tea are always taken on the patio!!

Plenty of work a head of us, but given time we will get there.
