A bit of garden work

We took DD2 with us to the bungalow yesterday. We were expecting the carpet chap to measure up.
She and OH cleared out a lot of rubbish that had been put in the wrong dustbin, they bagged it up and put it in the right bin. Dirty job.
I have a dirty job to do in the house apart from scrapping all the muck from between the floor boards. Do not think the person who was in the house with the children had any floor covering down at all. I got cherrios plus a lot of other gunk out yesterday. The other dirty job is to try and shify the lime scale on the toilet, it is crusted on and quite thick. I am going to see if I can get some spirits of salts to put down, it should dissolve it if its left for a couple of days.
Gardenwise, OH started to clear a path we found going up to the second shed, he also found some more small slabs which he plans to use elsewhere.. DD is going to lend us her mower to do the first cut on the front and back lawns. and I will also strim the weeds off what will be the veg patch. OH wants a piece about 7ft x 12ft clearing so he can get the veg plants in. The rain recently has really made the grass and weeds grow!!
My friend Scotsgran contacted me with the offer of some montana seedlings which I was delighted to accept, I want to get the front chain fence covered asap. There is a plant growing in the front I am not sure about, I know there are roses and welsh poppies, I think there are also some ordinary poppies and then these things that look like an Iris on the stem but have single flowers. I will take a photo next time we are there and see if anyone can enlighten me!!

Sounds like a real challenge Csarina - good luck with all that cleaning. Make sure you take lots of photos for "before and after" blogs!

Good luck I think you will need it. I would empty the toilet and pour coca cola down then Harpic powder. Then Jays fluid to disinfect the floor

go for harpic red top for the lime-scale remover. When we moved here the toilet was disgusting with lime scale. previous owner only flushed the loo once a day! She lived here for 30 yrs.
The harpic is a strong acid so don't get it on your skin. Bleach will only whiten it not remove it. Also don't mix different cleaning products together as they do react and often produce chlorine gas as a result.
Hope the work isn't to arduous but just think of the relaxing you'll be able to do when all is done.

Busy times ahead Csarina, wish you well with everything, at least its the right time of the year, nothing worse than preparing to move in the wintertime, you can throw the windows open for airing whilst you are cleaning....
