New pond area path
6 comments
For years even before we had the garden, the side of the pond between the decking and the garage has always been muddy and soggy and the grass has never really grown! I decided to dig out all of the grass and then they let a trench around the edge of the area in which I cut down random conifer trunks to various heights and treated them with preservative and then sunk them into the ground to edge off the area. Then I went up to another property we own on the street and acquired some pieces of heuchera, giant Astilbe/aruncus, some bergenia and some bamboo, all of which are now in the area (the bamboo will go in a large pot behind the door to add height but a pot will stop it spreading) and then I used good weed surpresent membrane to cover over the remainder of the ground and put back down the pavers and then filled in the area with four bags of larger pebbles and two smaller bags of pea shingle.

Thanks everybody!! Now it's just a case of getting the plants to spread and cover! I've now added a large and fast growing bamboo in a pot to add some height until the other plants come through!!

It's coming along nicely! There's now a bamboo in a pot and I'm moving in some more plants from other parts of the garden!!
