Agapanthus tip off!!
I absolutely adore agapanthus plants and have maybe 6 or 7 of them already in the pond area and I was hoping to buy more before the end of last summer, That was until I realised that for a small pot of them would be around £9.99 each. earlier in the year I purchased one from a supermarket for £3 and four bulbs from another super market for £2 for a box of two. This morning whilst on the way home from a work meeting I popped into a local branch of Sainsbury’s where they have boxes of bulbs (two blue bulbs for £2.50 or one white bulb for £2.50) so me being me got a little carried away and ended up with four boxes and a total of 6 new bulbs/plants for £10 which is the price I had previously paid elsewhere for one grown plant. Hope this was useful to somebody!! :)

when you say in the pond area I assume you mean in the dry not in the pond.
Morrison's are doing similar but they are not named varieties so just going by blue or white is irritating as I like to know their names.
but good value for money :o)

Hi Dan, I agree with Sbg, especially with something like Agapanthus, where they range from fully hardy, frost hardy, right down to frost tender, so if you don't know what species they are, you don't know how hardy they're going to be, if you're lucky, and they're a hardy species, then you have a bargain, good luck with them, Derek.

Thankyou all! And I mean beside the pond!! I bought some last year and have survived so I'm hoping their fully hardy!! It's the same picture on the box again this Year so fingers crossed!! I never bought the white ones last year but did buy a 'blue' one from morrisons which is actually pure white :))

On the back of the box it does actually tell you the names of them, I've just checked :))

Hi Dan, that's good then, at least you know what you have bought, and can treat accordingly, Derek.

Last couple weeks.I hope they will be ok as they were fantastic in bloom last year!

I love them too and hope you have lots of success with these. They make me think of summer skies and beautiful seas.
