We got stuck in yesterday managed to prune the cornus and raised the canopy of the wedding cake shrub again and pruned our liquidambar tree. Also pruned the buddleja but decided to just shape it as it didn’t do very well last year. Hubby did all the hard work and used his new electric sabre saw on the very thick stems so he was happy lol, have quite a bit of clearing up to do now.

I am getting a bit more enthusiasm now to get stuck in with the tidy up, still a lot to do but doesn’t seem to be too many weeds at the moment.

I was sent a good deal by email a couple of months ago for buy one get one free 2lt perennials so ordered 8, they are due to be delivered May so are looking forward to getting those, all summer flowering.

We have also booked our tickets for Gardeners World Live at the NEC Birmingham and looking forward to that too.

I don’t really have any early spring colour unfortunately, apart from a free seeded pink hellebore ive had for quite a few years. Although Geum Totally Tangerine is puting out a few flowers already. I have an erythronium but no sign of that at the moment, need to have a little hunt for it.

The garden looks pretty dull seeing all your spring colour but will try and put a photo on separately as it won’t load on the blog. (just tried but won’t work, managed to get under 5mb too)

Thanks for looking in :-))

Funny, our buddleias didn't respond well to pruning last year either, D'lily, and I have been much less drastic with them this year, too. You sound as if you have been very busy. The sunshine has obviously got us all more motivated!

You've both been very industrious, Jane! Sounds like your OH is like mine..love their power tools! Mine had an electric chisel out to break up all the cement and brick we came across, plus his fencer grafter was well used!!!
It's a pity you can't upload at the minute, there are several members struggling..
Your hellebore sounds a beauty! I'm really getting into them now!
Look forward to seeing your pics soon. I'm sure your garden is lovely, mine is starting to wake up too 😊

Unfortunately, it does seem to have been ‘forgotten’ about to an extent, Jane. It’s quite sad really as it’s such a lovely forum, I’ve ‘met’ and learned so much from all you friendly, knowledgeable bunch.

Thanks Meadowland, it is frustrating not being able to upload photos. We have been to GWL most years apart from the last 2, it is a great day out, went to Carol Klein book signing a few years ago, shes one of my favourites. I would like to get a book signed by Monty too, maybe this year? :-)
