A new local group.

I only discovered Container Gardening in July. Decided to start a local Group for people like myself who have sub-standard clay soil which will only grow what I call car park plants. Or maybe have just a small space at a flat, or an ugly corner that needs brightening up.
Its email only, no subscriptions, as we all need our money to buy plants, the right composts, nutrients and containers. Theres plenty of ideas in GOY !
I have been surprised at the cost of buying Container Plants at G.C.s as its so easy to build your own collection.
Monthly newsletter by email, contributions welcome.
We will just meet quarterly for a pub lunch at a local country pub with adequate parking. Members are asked to take along a small Container Plant, and there will be a ‘Bring & Swop’ Table for any spare plants members have.
I did a display at a Farmers’ Market at a local school in September to create interest.
Have sent in an advertisement to a local Parish Magazine that goes out to 400 homes. (Will have to pay for that.)
Thats as far as I am at the moment, will plod on with it during the winter months.
Has anyone else done this ? I would be most interested to hear from you, people dont understand how our lives can be enhanced just by providing the right soil for the right plants in Containers.

Thanks Dwyllis, sounds as though you are feeling better now after your operation. Takes time. Be patient.

Good luck with your new group. I'm sure you will find lots of people interested. If I lived over your way, I sure would be. I love container gardening ... & they look great included in a bigger garden too. I have always had lots of flowering plants & succulents planted up in containers, until this year ... I only have succulents at the moment, as concentrating on getting a new garden organised.
