Aquilegias and Hollyhocks - Sow Now !

I know I have said this before. New members may appreciate. I have just been cutting off the dead flower stalks on my Aquilegia bed.
They have been wonderful. Survived the freeze-ups without being covered. I havent watered them at all.
Gave a wonderful display of flowers for weeks.
A 50p packet of seed sown now with Organic Slug Bait sprinkled on the compost will reward you next year with
a labour saving corner on the garden/allotment.
I also grew Hollyhocks 2 years ago, they are just coming into flower. Wonderful show. No problems.
Highly recommend both species.
People talk about ‘low maintenance’ – its knowing which plants to use to save the work !

Is it too late to sow hollyhocks now Diane? I haven't any seed yet, but I'm sure there will be some online:-)

The ground is still warm Bornagain, there should be Hollyhock seed in the T&M display in your GC. OK to sow now, but remember to put the slug bait down, as they are still with us ! I am sowing half of my seed on the allotment, and half in a seed tray in the greenhouse.

Aquilegias seed themselves freely in my garden, and so do forgetmenots and foxgloves. They are coming up allready for next year :o)
Good of you to think of people who don't know Diane.
