Does anyone else have this problem ?

I delete all old files from ‘My Documents’ so the ‘C’ drive disc in my computer should be almost clear.
The ISP keeps sending more into my computer every day. I dont know what these files are, or what they are for, I never use them anyway – being only interested in the members’ wonderful input and all the photographs.
Recently it keeps telling me the ’C drive is full.
It can only be full because of what the ISP has put in it.
Should it display all these items somewhere so I can delete them ?
How do I empty it please ?

Hello Diane. I don't think your ISP is sending you anything. You probably have an old pc with a small size hard drive. Deleting documents and pictures is not enough. It is mostly updates from microsoft and other programs you receive. If you go to start and then to my computer you will see the size of your C drive and the free space. Some of its space is reserved for your bin, some other space is reserved for your virtual memory and some other is also reserved for your system restore and so on. In order to increase the free space, if you don't know how to reduce any of the above, you must delete large programs you do not need or do not use, empty the bin, delete all temporary files, history e.t.c, transfer all videos if any to an external drive and delete them from your hard disk. Even a short video takes much-much space. Good luck. New pc now come with a huge C drive.

Agree, Sg, it sounds like the computer has picked up some sort of bug. Unfortunately not cured by a quick spray of Provado.
Personnaly I would be nervous of cleaning it myself and would take the computer to a local repair shop.

Thank you everyone. Most grateful for all the help and advice. Have printed it all up to study, as I am a bit slow on mechanical things. Didnt realise something was wrong. Had a firm at Leicester to service it last year, it was as good as new after an hour of their work. (£75) Think I will contact them for help.

I will let you use those programmes free of charge for one day only :)
Or you can spend your money for them to use the same programmes :)

I am not sure if your familiar with the general kind of maintenance for the hard disk Diane, depend what operating system you have on it.
Always a good idea to do a disk clean up occasionally and run a defragmentaion once in a while, those are usual things.
Folk often trust their C drive but if you have everything on it without back up then if the operating system or hardisk fails and you need to reload it it'll wipe everything.
I always partition my drive and have a large chunk as a 'D' drive so if that happened I can just reload the software on C and carry on.
For you, if you haven't already, might be a good idea to invest in an external hard drive to back up and save your stuff, now you can get quite large storage for not much cost.
