Reap what you sow

I am a member of a local freecycle group and a few weeks ago I put several bags of soil and a couple of lengths of hose pipe that was surplus to my requirements on there.
A chap came round and had all of it as he needed more soil to fill an old pond in and the hose to water his garden.

A few days ago the same chap put some kent ragstone on freecycle from the now dismantled pond,so I kindly replied to his offer and got it.The stone matches a lot of what I already have around my pond and I needed some more to re-do my rockery areas so it matches in better.

I did not take all of it as there was a lot there, although he said I could.I told him to let other people have a chance for the rest as I had more than enough to do the jobs I want.
Here is a pic of the said stones.

As you can see there is quite a pile and would cost a small fortune in a garden centre.

I would recommend anyone if you haven’t already to join a local freecycle group to keep stuff out of landfill and to give or get items that may be rubbish to some people but another mans treasure.Quite often it saves you a trip or two to the tip.

It is suprising what you may just find to finish that project off.
I am very happy with this find!

I too use a freecycle site when I have something too good to take to the dump. Its great to reduce waste and help others at the same time.
