I've always enjoyed gardening but never really been good at it. Now I've retired I am getting to know more about plants and trying very hard to improve our garden. My wife enjoys sitting out with a glass of wine watching me in the borders, with an odd suggestion here and there as to why I shouldn't put a certain plant in a position. I spent nearly 40 years in the civil engineering & rail industry as an engineer and latterley as a project manager and the newfound gardening pastime is wonderful. Looking at some of the photo's on the website has inspired me to change a few things in our garden (with my wife's permission, of course). When I feel more confident of my garden I will upload a few pictures. Our garden is only about 40' long but is about 120' wide, faces south with the downside that the fencing along the 120' wide section is generally in shade for much of the day.
