New Garden Project
18 comments
I’m very lucky to live right next door to my parents (In their other property) and share a large garden.
I’ve always loved helping in the garden but recently have been craving my own garden to plan and develop.
So my mom has given me a piece of neglected land down the bottom of the garden.
This is what I have to work with, I need to clear the site and think about levels, sun/shade and what I want from the garden.
All the possibilities are making my head spin! Currently at the designing stage coming up with idea after idea… arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!!!!

Beats going to the gym.

lol I go to the gym too... Gonna be double knackered!
I'm now thinking of making it split level, keeping the higher side path and having a raised terrace down the bottom with shed and summerhouse. Steps down from the terrace onto a huge 3.5m w circular pergola, leading to a patio area. All bordered with shrubs, trees and perenials...
Yea I'll be taking lots of progress pics, don't worry!

I have kinda started, I cleared the path of all the overgrowth, next I need to take down the foliage at the back because I need to back fill the hole to try and get it more level. Gonna be some hard ground work before I get to do any planting.
I have also decided I am getting this pergola

Glad u all like my pergola idea, I actually found the pergola in the B&Q book, I was amazed to find some really great structures there! The circular one just really grabbed me, it's perfect for using as a patio dining space, growing plants up, seperating the space and giving height. I have found it cheaper on the net though. £420 is the lowest price so far, but I figured it's well worth it esp when most people my age spend that on crap.

People of all ages spend their money on that I'm afraid.

Great selection on the pergola. Lots of work but great bones to the idea. It will look great. I'll be watching too.

That looks a nice little plot for you to develop into something special. I hope you'll be showing us some photos of how it progresses. There's nothing like your own bit of ground where you can grow just what you want .
