Japanese Holly Fern
Genus: Cyrtomium.
Species: Cyrtomium falcatum.
Purchased and planted July 2008 under the front pine tree. This is a coarse-textured fern. Hardy to 25 degrees fahrenheit. Dark green, glossy foliage. Excellent container plant. Prefers shade and grows to an average size of 24-36"T x 15-24"W. It develops spores on the backs of the leaves (for reproducing) that resembles rust.
