Mahonia aquifolium 'Apollo'

Species: Mahonia aquifolium.
I bought three small plants from one of the newspaper outlets for J Parker Bulbs. It wasn't quite the bargain as I hoped they were as they were somewhat pot-bound in small pots and have been slow to take off, although they are beginning to pick up pace a little. The strongest growing one is in consistently moist shade. One suffered a lot of damage from what may have been snails and was completely defoliated: however I rescued it, planting it up in a pot for a while and it's made a great comeback. Compact shrub which flowers in spring. I find the shiny bronze new leaves quite appealing.
