Muscadet's Garden
Tropaeolum Tricolorum
Genus: Tropaeolum.
Species: Tropaeolum Tricolorum.
Such a delicate plant which has surprisingly survived this harsh winter . This climber erupts from something which looks and feels like a small new potato ! The delicate foliage and stunning color combinations in the flower really draw the eye ! It grows in the rear corner of a large square trough which is situated against a south wall in a protected courtyard . A grapevine( pruned and trained to overhead wire) is allowed to grow overhead during the spring to autumn season . The courtyard is in a very protected microclimate within my garden. It is a delight to spot when it starts into growth.
