Genus: Arnica.
Species: Arnica montana.
Wild in dry disturbed areas in the flats, this lovely and picky plant spreads quickly where it chooses. Not the best transplanted since it just dies if it doesn't like its spot. Still, I continue attempting to bring into the garden where it can reseed and spread. I love the brilliant yellow and the warm feeling that comes with it in early summer. They bloom for about three or four weeks in early June before solstice.
