Planted this in 2009. I've put little upright sticks around it in the hope that my cat and the neighbouring cats wouldn't flatten it. It hasn't stopped my moggy from sticking her head in the patch where it's coming back up from the ground and repetitively rubbing her mouth on it, though. Let's see it survives a surfeit of cat-love!
Catmint leaves can be used for a herbal tea, it's supposed to be quite calming. I've got a herbal tea theme going on in my garden since I have mint, lemon verbena and lemon balm, all of which I pick freely to make tea in summer. I tried catmint last year, but found it pretty vile-tasting unlike the aforementioned. I'll leave it for the cats!
