Hollyhock
In it's second year but first year we've seen it bloom as we chopped it to ground level before flowering last year as we thought the stem was hideous. We saw so many wild hollyhocks in France this summer and realised that it would be worth the wait this year and it hasn't disappointed. We've tucked it in behind some other plants like cosmos so that we can enjoy the flowers without seeing the stems!
