Cercis canadensis "Forest Pansy"
Genus: Cercis.
Species: Cercis canadensis.
Suffering from scale insects but is trying to recover by sending out new shoots lower down.
We have two types, a standard (slow growing we were told on the label) Not so! Its now 3-4 metres tall and has only been in the ground in a north facing garden for four years. The trunk is 100mm diameter from a 35mm start.
The second is the bush variety and it too is growing apace!
