Astelia nivicola Red Devil
Astelia nivicola 'Red Devil' is a native to New Zealand (South Island) and belongs to the lily family. It looks rather like a mini phormium with dark red, lance-like leaves highlighted in silver.
Useful in a shady border to enhance and contrast with round-leaved varieties such as the heucheras or the pink flowering Epimedium leptorrhizum, Primula 'Quaker Bonnet', Convallaria majalis 'Rosea' or Astrantia 'Roma'.
