Diohio's Garden
Lily, White Trout
Genus: Erythronium.
Species: Erythronium albidum.
White Trout Lily is a native perennial of Ohio. It is almost identical to Yellow Trout Lily except for the color. It is also called Dogtooth Violet. It likes dry deciduous woods. About 8 years ago I transplanted a few Trout Lily leaves to my wildflower bed. I had a wonderful surprise when it bloomed white. It's the first and only White Trout Lily that I have ever found, although out back there is antire ravine of Trout Lily leaves and very few flowers.
