Red Valerian
Genus: Centranthus.
Species: Centranthus ruber.
Red valerian. Vigorous self-seeder but I don't care - flowers so freely all summer, in one spot it's in about 1inch of soil and it still performs. Bees and butterflies visit it but not in great profusion save for the great Painted Lady invasion of summer 2009, when they were all over it.
