Metasequoia "Gold Rush"
Genus: Metasequoia.
Species: Metasequoia glyptostroboides.
Bought 4-28-06 for $17.00 at the College Garden Sale. It likes wet acidic soil which is what I have. It can grow to 100' tall ! Fast Grower. Its golden feathery leaves are deciduous, believe it or not ! The first winter I had this tree the deer at the top off of it and I was afraid it would die. Now I protect it and with all of the rain we had this spring it has grown a lot this year.
