I've just put 3 of these in a pot for Mum .. she saw an offer in a magazine for them ... should they be kept dry/damp ? . . . .

They like moisture and good drainage Shirley and a full sun aspect...If you have put 3 into a large pot they may not flower until they become a bit pot-bound.......protect from frost too...:>)

Thanks, Motty, they'll be going by the Summerhouse in her garden, lots of sunshine and shelter so fingers crossed they'll thrive ... :o)))

I love agapanthus .... which is really just as well, as I have it growing everywhere in my garden .... big borders of it. Makes a great show when its flowering, & nice strappy leaves when its not. I intend to put some white ones in this year, & the multitude of agapanthus I have, are all blue.

I love Agapanthus too Dwyllis...Is it New Zealand you are from?....I grow them in pots and take them in for Winter, its so cold and wet here in Ireland then...:>)

Yes, New Zealand. Agapanthus grows all over the place here. I would say that it is one of the most common plants in the area I live ... central lower North Island. I doubt if it grows in central & lower South Island, as just too cold in the winter there, but would certainly grow at the top of South Island, as gets very hot summers & mild winters in that part.

Sounds like a lovely place to live Dwyllis.....and to be able to grow Agapanthus so readily, you are lucky....:>)
