Leaves in Spring of Amaryllis - Belladonna lilly

These leaves will start to rot down at the end of Spring, then it's best to leave the ground bare to let the sun ripen the bulbs.

That sounds a stupid question but my friend has some and was concerned they were not doing too good!

If you have them in tubs, yes the foliage will still rot down in spring, then you clean it off to let them bake in the sun.
They sometimes take a few years to flower if you plant a new bulb.
