Wow! 5 years and no flowers yet! What going on with it. lol! Just giving you a bad time. In seriousness, your plant should be put into the ground...then it'll bloom very well. You've seen some of the millions of Bird-of-Paradise plants growing here in San Diego...they only bloom well outdoors in the ground.
