Lathraea clandestina

Lathraea clandestina

This is a tree-root parasite native to Europe and has been introduced successfully here in the Botanic Gardens Sheffield. Snap taken early May. This is quite unusual. I was told by other visitors to the Gardens that this flowers regularly every year.
