WOW!!! What an incredible Colvillea racemosa - Colville's Glory!!! This tree is very closely related to Delonix regia - Royal Poinciana and it native to the same area of Madagascar.
I grow these trees from seed for sale...they are starting to become available in the last 5 years or so here. They are however, by no means common...I'm not sure if there's any blooming trees here yet.

Yes it's magnificent isn't it Delonix? I have a neighbour who has one of these growing in their front yard and it's been flowering for quite some time now - just a spectacular sight when I'm heading off to work in the mornings! There was only one in the Botanic Gardens and it was loaded with blooms as you can see - it really stood out.

Yes, it is so stunning when in bloom! I know they are a late summer, fall blooming tree. My goal is to have as many of these trees planted here in San Diego. I think they would be wonderul! Late Summer and Fall we get some of the hottest temps of the year. Actually, November is the sunniest month of the year in San Diego.
