Yes Yorkshire I remembered they are your favouries. Wish I had a picture of mine before I chopped it down. It was an orange red...really pretty and huge. It's raining finally today so can't get any pictures for you. Going for a purple one tomorrow.

no rain here but very cold, pleased to be inside, will your orange/red grow back or have you removed it completely I'm looking forward to seeing the purple one when you put it on. my husband said the purple is his favourite

I removed mine. I was fed up with the thorns and it grew very vigorously. Branches all over the place, couldn't keep up with it. The purple is lovely, has more flowers than leaves. Tell your hubby he'll get to see it tomorrow. My favourite bougeinvillia is the white one. I might buy one for the back garden, maybe. I'm so glad it rained, we needed it bad. It's still warm and they are saying it's going to be hot again.

lucky you for the warm weather, I bought a bougeinvilllia once for my husband, should have been purple but when it flowered it was white, I kept it in the house for a few years but it got to big and we put it in the greenhouse, along came a frost and it was gone,

Yes, you have to be careful in the UK...then again my hubby gave me a white one as a gift. The most beautiful I have ever seen, covered in flowers. An unusual frost for us came by when we were away and there it went. I was surprised because Corfu has thousands of bougeinvillias.

What a glorious colour. I used to have a purple one too, but same thing happened as happened to Yorkshire. It got too big for the house. Used to put it in the garden in summer, indoors in winter, but when I tried it in the greenhouse I lost it even though I covered it with fleece.

Alexandramou:
Beautiful color on this Bougainvillea! They're very widely grown here...and all are in full bloom also. Do they grow wild along the the freeways there?
30 Sep, 2010
What freeway, ha wish we had a freeway. No need for them to grow wild, every other house has one. I had a look at the yellow one you were on about...gorgeous, would really love one of them and a white one. But I would keep them real small, less thorns!!!

I guess there's no freeway on the island. lol! : >)
Same here, almost every house has at least one or maybe several.
I used to have several large ones, when I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area. Now I only have small ones in containers.

They are nice but they grow soooo big. I want to try one in a pot and train it like a tree....that will look nice. I can put that in front of my shops.... :o)

ive seen them as a tree with plaited stems, look great like that, hope you do manage it Alex,;o)
