Petunias and Boganvia

Petunias and Boganvia

Volunteer Silver Wave Petunias mixed in with an orange Bougainvillea Bambino "Baby Sophia". This one is supposed maintain a smaller size then regular Bougainvilleas. So far so good as trimming the larger faster growing plants can be a real battle.

As much as I love Bougainvillea's I'm staying away from their thorns!!! I will try to grow some in pots this year, I don't know if I'm going to keep them.

Randy:

That's funny! You took your large Bougainvilleas out to put in this small variety...what if it grows larger than it says? lol!

I'm walking over tomorrow, and stealing some cuttings of your Petunia 'Silver Wave', you've been warned. lol! :>)

I have just set up surveillance cameras and I do know where you live.

If the "dwarf" Bougainvilleas grow to fast and large they may meet the same fate as the other ones. I don't like doing battle with these on a regular basis. They tend to fight back with their long sharp thorns. So far these have been better behaved. They seem to grow slower and they have shorter wimpier thorns.

LOL....I would be in soooo much trouble if everyone had surveillance cameras!!! Delonix, you have been warned.

Randy:

I know how to get around surveillance cameras...they haven't stopped me yet. Plus I can see your house from my house...I can plan a very fast walk-by-cutting! LOL!!!

You definitely can't cut these Bougainvillea plants down!!!
I really liked the variety Rosenka you had...it's to bad they got so big (and it's a dwarf variety too).

Thanks Surreylad
I planted Silver Wave Petunias several years back and they've been re-seeding ever since. I really like the way they look against the Orange Bougainvillea.
